Layla A. Ramirez is an Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging (DEIB) practitioner in the technology industry. Most recently her work has focused on building, scaling and managing leadership development programs to address the needs of early, mid-career and executive level Latinx talent across the globe and on re-imagining and transforming the onboarding and first-year experience of Black, Latinx, Native American and Women talent globally.
Layla has held positions across a wide spectrum of organizations including Amazon Web Services, Netflix, Danaher Corporation and Management Leadership for Tomorrow (MLT). Prior to launching her career as a DEIB practitioner, Layla spent several years as an Analyst in the Global Wealth & Investment Management division at Merrill Lynch.
Layla holds a B.A. degree in Economics from Smith College and an MBA from Harvard Business School. She is passionate about leadership, diversity, college access, coaching and ultimately enabling others to be the best version of themselves.
Layla proudly identifies as an Afro-Latina with Dominican roots. She was born and raised in the Washington Heights neighborhood of New York City and spent her formative years in Boston, MA. She is both a first-generation college graduate and first-generation business school graduate, and is the first in her family to start her career in Corporate America.
Layla is based out of Brooklyn, NY, where she lives with her partner.
